Director's Message

This year marks my fourteenth year serving on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Trooper Foundation, representing Troop G. Troop G serves the parishes of Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, DeSoto, Red River, and Bienville. While I have had the honor of serving on many boards throughout the years, my time with this organization has truly been among the most rewarding experiences.

Over the past several years, the Louisiana State Trooper Association, Troop G, has seen tremendous success in its fundraising efforts. A large part of that success is due to the time and dedication invested in hosting the annual Shoot for the Blue sporting clays event. This achievement would not be possible without the hard work of the Advisory Committee, the dedication of the Troopers themselves, and most importantly, the unwavering support of the spouses and families of our Troopers who volunteer year after year. I offer my heartfelt thanks to each of them for their time, hard work, and personal commitment.

We are especially grateful for the continued support of our Founder’s Club Sponsor, Willis Knighton Health Systems. Their generosity has allowed us to meet a number of important goals and to support a wide range of needs and causes in our area. We are also deeply thankful for our Colonel’s Club Sponsors: Rose Neath Funeral Homes, Testament Construction, Meridian Timber, Yokem Toyota, Roy O. Martin, Expand Energy Corporation, Select Water Solutions, and the Bossier Healthcare Foundation.

Our Corporate Sponsors are completed by the Captain’s Club, which includes The Woods Group, Britt Choate, Martin Transport, CNC Oilfield Services, Cason Land and Cattle, Gibsland Bank and Trust, Metro Aviation, and Turner Engineers, L P.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the many companies and individuals who have contributed door prizes and auction items. Thanks to the combined efforts of everyone mentioned above, Shoot for the Blue has become the premier sporting clays fundraiser in Louisiana.

The Foundation has been able to make a meaningful impact in our community by supporting programs such as youth camps and cookouts for the residents of the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Bossier City. Additionally, we have provided active shooter vests and lifesaving tactical equipment to all Troopers in the Troop G area. Your financial support also allows us to distribute free child safety seats to military families through the Airmen’s Attic at Barksdale Air Force Base.

If you are not already involved in this event, I encourage you to join us in supporting Troop G and the Shoot for the Blue fundraiser. I believe you will find it as rewarding as I have. This event is a unique opportunity to connect with our State Troopers and contribute to sustaining the Louisiana State Police as the premier law enforcement agency in our state.

Sincerely,
Margaret Shehee
